Sigri Estate, located in Papua New Guinea’s Wahgi Valley, has been producing some of the world’s best coffee since the 1950s. Known for its exceptional quality, Sigri grows Arabica beans, focusing on the Typica cultivar. This lot is a peaberry sorted coffee, where each cherry yields a single, rounded bean for a more concentrated flavor profile.
Grown at 1600 meters, Sigri coffee undergoes strict quality control from hand-picking ripe cherries to a unique fermentation process involving water immersion, which enhances its distinct taste. The beans are sun-dried and carefully sorted to ensure the highest quality.
Sigri Estate practices sustainable farming, supporting over 90 bird species and maintaining eco-friendly standards. Their "Kula" coffees, exclusive to Benchmark, are specially processed with multiple sorting rounds to deliver one of the cleanest and most refined PNG coffees available.
