Finca La Cabaña reflects the passion and dedication of Luis Eduardo Vargas, a first-generation coffee producer who discovered specialty coffee later in life and never looked back. Located in the mountains of Urrao, Antioquia, the farm is managed by Luis Eduardo and his daughter, Katy Julieth Vargas, whose shared commitment to quality is helping build a lasting family legacy around coffee.

Situated at 2,000 meters above sea level, Finca La Cabaña is home to the Pacamara variety, a cultivar prized for its large size, complexity, sweetness, and distinctive cup character. After careful hand-harvesting, cherries rest overnight before being depulped and fermented in open tanks for five to eight days. The coffee is then washed and dried on raised beds for 10 to 12 days, allowing the unique qualities of the cultivar and terroir to shine.

Luis Eduardo began his coffee journey in 2018 after years as a cattle rancher, learning the craft from renowned producer Doña Carmen Montoya, whose work helped establish Urrao as one of Colombia's most exciting coffee-growing regions. Today, Katy works alongside her father in every stage of production while passing that knowledge on to the next generation.

This lot reflects the dedication, attention to detail, and passion for specialty coffee that Luis Eduardo and Katy bring to every step of production. It is a beautiful expression of Pacamara from the high mountains of Antioquia, showcasing both the care behind the process and the potential of the variety and land.
